Update: Structures are still standing. Land was puchased by Elmer's Inc. in May 1994 and is adjacent
to that company's contracting operation. (Garfield Twp Office 1/26/98)
Update: The Sundowner theater in Traverse City on US 31 N. is closed. A construction company is
using the lot. The screen seems intact (2, possibly 3 screen). The theater rest in a valley below US 31,
so you can only see the tops of the screens. Snack bar also seemed intact. (Jeff Raterink 1/31/00)
Update: The Sundowner's marquee, snack bar, and one screen remain standing. The second screen
is laying on the ground, partially dismantled (destroyed). The snack bar has been completely gutted,
and the lot is being excavated. A few ramps remain and the lot is also used for storage of various
construction materials. A few plastic pvc pipe speaker poles remain scattered around the lot.

Update: The Sundowner was most likely the last drive-in built in Michigan.
(Michigandriveins.com 6/9/03)
Update: This drive-in is the site of the old T.C. 250 snowmobile race. The drive ins and screens were
placed in the pit area of the track. If you look closely you can see the outline of the old track.
