Flushing,MI Owner(s): Butterfield Theatres Screens: Two Planned Opening: Early 1970's Site Status: Former indoor theater now used as a church Notes: Butterfield planned to build a twin screen drive-in on this site, most likely to compete with the newly opened Miracle Twin Drive-In. Butterfield could not get township approval for the drive-in, so they instead built the Towne Cinemas on the site. The 4-screen indoor theater opened in 1980 and closed in 1992. |

Phoenix then moved their efforts to the Michigan State Fair location. |

Community Theatres planned a new, larger Town Drive-In, to be built across the street. Unfortunately, they could not secure the proper permits to built it, the new Town was never built. |

A third and fourth screen were planned by National Amusements in 1976. The third screen was built and opened in May 1977, the fourth screen was never built. |
