Here you will find detailed information about the eight surviving
drive-in theatres in Michigan, including websites, phone numbers,
map, weather and motel links. This page is provided as a service to Michigan drive-in patrons,
and to help promote these theatres, hopefully prolonging their
existence.
You should always call the theatre before traveling to verify
it is indeed open and what is showing that night.
While we do strive to be accurate, MichiganDriveIns.com is

Take your family to a Michigan Drive-In tonight and enjoy the great drive-in revival!
You should know the drive-in's keep a very small percentage of the ticket price, so be sure to
spend some money in the snack bar, this income is the key to their existence.
Your continuing patronage of these theatres in 2009 and beyond is crucial to their survival,
please don't let these eight go the way of the sad examples pictured here.
We once enjoyed over one hundred and fifty drive-in's here in Michigan,
and now there are just ten.
Support and enjoy your Michigan Drive-In Theatre's, while you still can!
See ya at the drive-in....
The Capri earns top billing here for a reason; it is the best!
One of the inspirations for this site. This clean family-run operation
offers atmosphere, great food, a quality picture presentation on a really big screen,
and a friendly staff. Events include a Car Show, a Halloween Party and a Anniversary Party.
Well worth the drive to Coldwater, make this ten-star drive-in a regular habit.
Tucked away up in the thumb is this little jewel of a drive-in.
Simple, cozy, country, quiet and very dark! Zero light pollution, and a star filled sky
help make an awesome drive-in experience. Don't be deceived by the small screen,
it works well in this size theatre, and the picture quality is very good.
The clean & well maintained vintage Hi-Way Drive-In is highly recommended. The
Hi-Way is open weekends only after Labor Day.
Be sure to visit the nostalgic Cherry Bowl on you next trip up-north. A great trip back to
the 1950's awaits your family at this great little drive-in. Great food, and 50's atmosphere.
Vintage intermission reels and cartoons are a bonus, Mini-golf is also availible on site.
Plays PG-13 and lower movies only. The Cherry Bowl is open weekends only from April thru mid-June & after Labor Day.
Beating the odds, Lou Warrington's classic US-23 Twin Drive-In survived the 80's and 90's and then a
devastating 1997 arson fire that destroyed the original wood screen tower. The rebuilt "23" now thrives
with two screens, holding its own against cross-town rival, the Miracle Twin. The 23 offers affordable
family-friendly atmosphere and a definite nostalgic charm.
Update: 2009 is very
likely the final year of operation for the US-23. Owner Lou Warrington passed away in February 2009,
and the US-23 will be open one more season as a tribute to him. Please come out often and enjoy this
historic ozoner while you still can! (3/30/09)
Update: The US-23 has been leased out for a 5-year period. The new management is planning
extensive renovations and updates. Also planned is the addition of two more screens, making
the 23 a quad drive-in. The expected opening date for 2009 is May 8th. (4/27/09)
West Michigan's classic Getty 4 is part of the Loeks Theatres Circuit.
It was nearly lost a few years ago, but somehow managed to survive a development threat,
and continues to thrive. The original main screen was damaged in 2006, but is now refurbished and ready
for use. The Getty is a great place to take your family, with great concessions and very
friendly staff. The Getty offers variety, nostaglia and atmosphere.
With it's magnificent vintage art-deco screen tower,
Charles Shafer's huge Ford-Wyoming 1-5 complex is an outgrowth of the original
single screen drive-in which opened in 1951.
The Ford-Wyoming offers year-round movies, with two and three nightly showings of Hollywoods latest,
and those very cool dancing hot dog intermission reels. Electric in-car heaters are availible for winter use.
The Sunset Drive-In opened in 1948 and is the second oldest operating drive-in in the state.
This small-town drive-in offers good projection and concession, and a playground for the kids.
Located well off the beaten path, the classic 5-Mile Drive-In is a hidden treasure. The vintage single screen
drive-in offers a nostalgic drive-in experience. The well-maintained 5-Mile was purchased and reopened in 2006 by the
owners of the Sunset Drive-In in Hartford.
The CSA Drive-In employs three retractable screens in the
parking lot of the Compuware Arena. The lot opens at 7pm and movies
begin at dusk. The adjacent Ginopolis on the Ice Restaurant (734-453-4455) is open during the
show for carry out. Ticket prices are: 12 years old to adult are
$8.00, 7-12 years old are $6.00, 2-6 and younger are $2.00. This is all the
information we have on the CSA Drive-In.
The Silverdome Drive-In is CLOSED.
