News Article: Outdoor Theatre - Don Garey is back from wintering in Florida, and is anxious to get his outdoor theatre in
operation. Location is on M-37 at the golf course road. Mr. Garey picked the location as midway between White Cloud and
Newaygo and between Fremont and the Hardy-Croton complex. Building is concession center and projection booth. Framework,

News Article: M-37 Drive-In Theatre - Don Garey has hit his target date of being open for Memorial Day. His M-37 Drive-In
Theatre was scheduled to open Wednesday evening with a double feature which will run through Saturday. An ad in this issue
gives the program. Under Mr. Garey's policy, there will be no Sunday shows. Monday and Tuesday will feature two for the price
of one admission. The theatre, located on M-37 between White Cloud and Newaygo, will have 254 speaker staions. The outdoor
screen is 64 feet wide and 32 feet high. The two-story building is 15 x 40, with rest rooms, projection room and concession area
on the ground floor and living quarters on the second. Mr. Garey choose his location as a central point to White Cloud, Newaygo,
Fremont and the Hardy-Croton complex. (White Cloud Eagle 5/30/63)
News Article - M-37 Drive-In Purchased by Sundown Theatre Corp. Newygo, Mich - The M-37 Drive-In has been purchased by
the Sundown Drive-In Theatre Corp. of Spring Lake from Jack Loeks Sr. of White Cloud. Steve Eisner, who heads the firm which
bought the theatre has named Mrs. Carole LaRue as manger of the theatre. Under the new management, the M-37 ran brand new
films on an intial Friday-Saturday basis until school was out and then increased its playing time to four days a week-Thursday to
Sunday. Five other drive-ins in Michigan are owned and operated by Eisner. They are at Ludington, Spring Lake, Three Rivers,
Mt. Pleasant and Houghton Lake, as well as one in Massachusetts. (Box Office Magazine 6/23/69)
Update: The M-37 Theater of White Cloud/Newaygo is closed. Land is being developed around it, and the lot is suspiciously
clean (2 years ago, it was overgrown). The screen, projection booth, and snack bar seem intact. (Jeff Raterink 1/31/00)
Update: The M-37 Drive-In Theater is now home to someone. The snack bar is being used as a home. There is also a house
trailer on the lot. The screen and ticket booth are also still standing, but the marquee is gone. (Michigandriveins.com 9/9/00)
