Update: I managed the Holiday Drive-In, I also worked at the Fort George,
the Jolly Roger, and was the misfortunate person that was given the sad task of putting the final marquee
on the Michigan Drive-In stating that it was closed. The location on the site lists it as Wyandotte, but it was
actually Southgate. It is now a strip mall and a Chi-Chi's and Best Buy. (Christoper Allen 7/16/00)
Update: Henry Ford Hospital outpatient facility resides on the old Holiday D.I. grounds as of 6-1-05. The ramps are still there behind the facility but it is now
a field of overgrown weeds. (Waterwinterwonderland.com/Mark 12/4/06)
Update: Numerous emails have been received indicating the "actual" location of the Holiday Drive-In being in Woodhaven. When the Holiday opened in 1956, it's address was 23000 West Rd. Trenton, MI 48183. This has been documented through listings found in International Motion Picture Alamanacs from 1957 through 1985, an example is posted below. While it's true the Holiday was not actually within the Trenton city limits, it did indeed have a Trenton address. It was not located in Woodhaven. It's rural location in 1956 dictated it using the closest city for it's address, which at that time was Trenton. Woodhaven was
incorporated as a village in 1961, and as a city in 1965. (source: Wikipedia) The Holiday Drive-In site was actually outside the western border of Woodhaven. Today, the former site is actually located in what is known as Brownstown Twp. The Henry Ford Medical Center was recently built on the grave of the Holiday Drive-In Theater. It's address is 23050 West Rd. Brownstown Twp, MI 48183. (Michigandriveins.com 8/7/11)
